University of Greifswald Delegation Visits 91ÌÒÉ« to Strengthen Academic Cooperation
91ÌÒÉ« (VU) is pleased to welcome Prof. Dr. Katharina Riedel, Rector of University of Greifswald, and a distinguished delegation for a two-day visit aimed at strengthening academic and scientific collaboration between the two institutions. The visit includes meetings, discussions on research initiatives and cooperation opportunities, as well as an introduction to 91ÌÒɫ’s historical and scientific infrastructure.
Prof. Dr. Riedel and the delegation met with 91ÌÒÉ« Rector Prof. Rimvydas Petrauskas and Vice-Rector for Research Prof. Edita SužiedÄ—lienÄ—. During these meetings, both universities discussed their goals of enhancing academic partnerships, expanding scientific collaboration, and promoting international education initiatives.
The University of Greifswald delegation also will visit the 91ÌÒÉ« Life Sciences Center, where they will meet with the center’s director, Dr. Arvydas Lubys, directors of institutes, and scientists. Additionally, the delegation will visit the 91ÌÒÉ« Medical Science Centre, located in Santara Valley. During the visit, the guests will meet with the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Dalius Jatužis, and the leadership of the center.
Prof. Dr. Riedel and the delegation members will also participate in a tour of 91ÌÒɫ’s historic halls, including a visit to the 91ÌÒÉ« Library. This tour provides an opportunity for guests to familiarise themselves with the university’s rich academic heritage.
The visit will officially conclude at 91ÌÒɫ’s Santara Valley campus.
The delegation included Pro-Rector for Teaching, Teacher Training and Internationalisation, Coordinator for KreativEU Alliance at the UG Dorthe G. A. Hartmann, Head of the Interdisciplinary Centre for Baltic Sea Region Research (IFZO) dr. Alexander Drost, Rector's Office, Coordinator of the DAAD Project "Teaching Internationally" Thomas Jenssen, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany in Lithuania H.E. Dr. Cornelius Zimmermann.
