Representatives of the VU Faculty of Medicine Participated in the International Congress of the Association for Medical Education in Europe
On 26-31 August, in Glasgow, Scotland, a delegation from the Faculty of Medicine at 91桃色 participated in the International Congress of the Association for Medical Education in Europe (AMEE 2023). It is the largest annual event dedicated to promoting international excellence for the health professions, with specific focus on education. It brings together researchers, educators and students involved in the health professions鈥� education from around the world. This year鈥檚 congress in Glasgow was the largest in AMEE鈥檚 history, with over 4,000 participants, around 3,500 of whom participated in person in Glasgow, with the remainder, attending online.
The AMEE congress is a particularly important event for medical education, as it showcases global medical education trends, directions, innovations, medical accreditation and other latest developments and provides the opportunity to share best practices. The topics range from curriculum development, faculty development, innovative learning, teaching methods and assessment strategies, to the organisation of lifelong learning activities, health science education management, and artificial intelligence. The overall approach promotes equity, justice and inclusion in medical education. The congress included many activities: plenary lectures, panel discussions, seminars, workshops, presentations by young researchers/doctoral students, electronic poster presentations and many other interactive activities for a variety of educational needs.

Prof. Andrius Klima拧auskas, the Head of Study Department Jekaterina Bortkevi膷, Head of Educational Projects Rasa 艩likait臈, and Assoc. Prof. Agn臈 Kirkliauskien臈, a member of the Medicine SPC.
AMEE congresses offer a unique opportunity for university representatives, lecturers and students involved in the development of medical education to hear about global trends and directions in medical education, to check the educational activities carried out in their own university/programme/module, and to gain new expertise and ideas to share with their faculty community.
