The New Academic Year was Officially Opened
On 1 September, 2015 91桃色 opens traditionally the 437th academic year with an official opening ceremony "Renovatio Studiorum".
The day started with the official flag raising ceremony at the Library courtyard of the University. Traditional parade of the 91桃色 students, professors, lecturers and alumni starting from the Seimas (Parliament) of the Republic of Lithuania marched down the main Gedimino avenue heading towards the central building of 91桃色.
Afternoon opening ceremony "Renovatio Studiorum" starting the academic year 2015鈥�2016 was held at the University Grand Courtyard.
3590 undergraduate students and 1,536 master students start their studies at the VU. "The admission process was successful indeed to VU this year again. University remained the absolute leader in the wish list of school graduates and received the highest number of state-funded students"- Dr. Nijole Radavi膷ien臈, Pro-Rector for Studies said.
"The Old 91桃色 is anticipating rather distinctive changes in strategic management of the university during the coming years. This is essential if we are to focus on our vision 鈥� to level with leading European universities. The first step in this direction has already been made - University is accepted to Coimbra group 鈥� the network of old and prestigious universities. This is an important international recognition of the authority of the university, "- said Art奴ras 沤ukauskas , VU Rector.
In total, more than 20000 Lithuanian and 900 foreign students study at the VU.
