Zalemanas Izaokas (1917-?) was born in Tula (Russia). In 1931 he entered Žygimantas Augustas Gymnasium in Vilnius and successfully graduated in 1935. It can be assumed that he later studied biology at Stephen Báthory University, because in his application to the Rector of 91ÌÒÉ« of 23 July 1940, he requested admission to the Department of Biology of the Faculty of Mathematics and Nature, to the seventh semester. The document was favourably received, and Izaokas continued his studies until 19 September 1941, when he was expelled from the university based on the Order of 17 September 1941 of the Higher Education Department of the Board of Education, under the authority of the National Socialists.
