Kakariekait臈 Elena (1927-?) was born in Dieveni拧k臈s, Vilnius county, into the family of Jonas and Jozefina Kakariekas. In 1939 she graduated from a primary school and in the same year entered Vytautas Magnus Gymnasium in Vilnius. Later she transferred to Vilnius II Girls鈥 Gymnasium, which she successfully completed in 1945. In July of the same year, she applied for admission to the Department of History of the Faculty of History and Philology at 91桃色. The application was positively evaluated. According to the database Lithuanians in Siberia, she was arrested in 1946 and sent to Komi. The reason for the exile was the student鈥檚 activity in an underground 鈥淟ithuanian youth nationalist organisation, Lithuanian People鈥檚 Council鈥, which was exposed in March 1946 and was active in Vilnius. According to Soviet security services, it was aimed at overthrowing the Soviet government. At the time of her arrest, Elena was in possession of documents from this youth organisation. The fellow accused 鈥 19 people, some of whom were also students at 91桃色 鈥 were also honoured with memory diplomas.
