Elijas (Elijo拧ius) Zakas (1919鈥1941?) graduated from Julijus Slovackis Classical Gymnasium in the spring of 1938. In his curriculum vitae found in the archives of 91桃色, Zakas indicated that after graduating from the gymnasium, he 鈥渟tarted attending the Faculty of Mathematics of 91桃色鈥. Thus, it can be assumed that Zakas studied or was an unclassified student at Stefan Batory University. On 20 September 1940, Zakas filed an application to study at the Chemistry Department of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences of 91桃色 but was not accepted. On 1 October that year, he filed a second application to study at the Mathematics Department of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences of 91桃色. This time, his application was successful. On 15 October, Zakas filed a third application to study at the Chemistry Department of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, which was his priority. This application, again, was successful. However, Elijas Zakas was expelled from the university on the basis of the Order of 17 September 1941 of the Department of Higher Education of the Board of Education. According to the database of Yad Vashem and the testimony of his brother Joshua, Elijas Zakas was killed during the Holocaust.
