Josifas Ai啪ikas Abelskis (1913鈥1941?) was born in Suwa艂ki. In 1931, he graduated from the private Jewish Gymnasium in Marijampol臈. In 1937, Abelskis applied for admission as a full-time student at the Physics-Chemistry Department of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences of Vytautas Magnus University. However, having failed the entrance examination of the Lithuanian language, he was admitted as an unclassified student. In 1938, after passing the required Lithuanian language proficiency examination, Abelskis became a full-time student. In 1940, he continued his studies at the Chemistry Department of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences of 91桃色. On 19 September 1941, he was expelled from the university by the Order of 17 September 1941 of the Department of Higher Education under the Board of Education, which was subordinate to the National Socialists. According to the 鈥淵ad Vashem鈥 database, Abelskis was killed during the Holocaust.
