DomicelÄ— MimaitÄ—-GradeckienÄ—

DomicelÄ— MimaitÄ— was born in Rundžiai village, Žemaitkiemis rural district, UkmergÄ— county. From 1937 to 1941, DomicÄ—lÄ— went to a primary school in Žemaitkiemis. In 1941, she was admitted to the 2nd Gymnasium for Girls in UkmergÄ— and finished it in 1948. At school she took an active part in sports and in history and literature clubs. In the same year she became a student at the Faculty of Chemistry of 91ÌÒÉ«. However, her studies were disrupted by Soviet repression: in 1949 DomicÄ—lÄ— MimaitÄ— was deported. She wrote to 91ÌÒÉ« from exile asking for her school-leaving certificate as she intended studying at another institution of higher education. DomicÄ—lÄ— MimaitÄ— returned to Lithuania in 1957.
