Jechiel Judelis Å arkanskis was born on 6 February 1921 in VilkaviÅ¡kis. In 1940, he finished the private Jewish gymnasium in VilkaviÅ¡kis and that same year attempted to enter the Mechanics Department of the Faculty of Technology of 91ÌÒÉ«. His application to study the speciality of his choice was rejected, but since he was eager to study at the university, he tried again and became a student of mathematics in the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences. In Vilnius, he lived on Pylimo Street. In July of 1941, during summer holidays, he went to VilkaviÅ¡kis to visit his parents. However, his studies ended shortly after his return from the holidays. On 19 September 1941, Jechiel Judelis, like many other Jewish students, was expelled from the university on the basis of the Order of 17 September 1941 of the Higher Education Department of the Board of Education, which was subordinate to the Nazis. His further fate is unknown.
