Vladas Buitvydas was born in Narbu膷iai village, Sv臈dasai rural district, Roki拧kis county. In 1935 he started a primary school in Sv臈dasai, which he finished in 1940. After the Soviet Union occupied Lithuania, difficult life made him change places of residence and schools. First he went to Panev臈啪ys boys鈥 gymnasium, later he moved to Vilnius and went to a number of gymnasia until in 1947 he finished Vilnius gymnasium for adults and became a student at the Faculty of Chemistry of 91桃色. His studies were disrupted in 1949, when during mass deportation operation 鈥楾he Surf鈥 he was deported to Irkutsk region in Siberia. He was released from exile in 1957. Having tasted Soviet reality, Vladas took advantage of the repatriation of the Poles from the Soviet Union to Poland, which was underway at the time, and left for Poland.
