Grei膷i奴nas Leonas
Leonas Grei膷i奴nas (1925鈥�?) was born in Gavinol臈 homestead, Bir啪ai parish, in the family of forest worker Povilas Grei膷i奴nas and Angel臈 Grei膷i奴nien臈. In 1934, he graduated from Alizava Primary School. After the parents moved to Bir啪ai, he entered Bir啪ai State Gymnasium in 1939. He completed studies there in 1945. In the same year, he entered the Department of Industry of the Faculty of Economic Sciences of 91桃色. In 1946, he was temporarily expelled from the university for allegedly failing to pass two examinations. Leonas wrote a statement explaining he had failed only one exam and the second exam was not recorded due to a clerical error; therefore, he was allowed to return to studies. In 1947, he got seriously ill and had to justify the missed lectures. He continued his studies until January 1948. In January 1948, he was arrested and sent to the city of Norilsk for seven years. In April 1948, he was removed from the university鈥檚 student list because he was 鈥渘ot attending lectures鈥�. During the seven years he spent in Norilisk, he worked at the Norilsk Metallurgical Plant, carrying out various construction works. In 1961, he sent a request to the university in order to get a certificate recording the courses he had taken and the examinations he had passed. Such a certificate was issued. In 1963, Leonas entered the Norilsk Evening Industrial Institute, where he completed two years of study. In 1965, he returned to Lithuania, settled with his family (his wife and sons Valdas and Povilas) in Alytus and started working in a refrigerator factory as an engineer-constructor. In 1967, he again submitted a request to continue studies at 91桃色 part-time. Although he wished to have his previous semesters of studies at the university taken into account, he received a reply from the university鈥檚 management, explaining he had to start over by enrolling in the university through general admissions. There are no more documents proving his studies or graduation.
