Ona Gra啪yt臈 (1925鈥2005) was born in Mi膷ionys village, Utena county, in the family of Jonas Gra啪is and Ona Kazlauskait臈. She had three brothers (Kazys, Pranas, Vytautas) and a sister (Zos臈). She attended Mi膷ionys Primary School. She completed the fifth and sixth form in Sv臈dasai Primary School. In 1939, she entered Anyk拧膷iai Gymnasium. After successfully completing it in 1945, she submitted an application to study pharmacy at 91桃色 Faculty of Medicine. On 15 April 1947, she was removed from the university student list 鈥渄ue to misrepresenting personal data鈥. As she herself wrote in yet another application for admission to 91桃色 in 1947, she was wrongly accused of allegedly knowing that her brother had not joined the army and was hiding at home. Her request was not granted. In 1956, she asked the university to recover the remaining personal documents.
