Factors and Outcomes of Psychosocial Interactions and Decision Making. Prof. Dr. G. Valickas. 2016鈥2020.
In 2016 the three research works were conducted. The first research examined: a) factors affecting litigants鈥 perceived fairness of judicial behaviour; b) congruence between judicial behaviour and the requirements of procedural justice in civil cases.
The second one researched modern theories and models explaining health-related behaviour and possibility to apply them in the healthy lifestyle promotion programs.
The third research examined cognitive functioning of individuals of different ages (verbal and visual-spatial memory of Lithuanian adult population).

Although from very beginning of research it was noted that temporal discrimination depends on the subjective experience, the influence of 鈥渢op-down鈥 processes (attention, primarily) was addressed more often only in last decade or two. We investigated the temporal sensitivity of visual system under different conditions of expectations. The three primary LED鈥檚 (red, green and blue) were used as flashlights; they also composed the illuminant D65 of the background extending full visual field in our experiment. The two separate lights of the same colour flashed at different temporal intervals (zero phase shift at the start of experiment, 40鈥60 ms at the subject decision, the increase interval 鈥 1 ms). After presentation of stimuli, the subject responded with one of four possible answers: a) stimuli flashed at the same time, b) the left stimulus flashed first, c) the right stimulus flashed first, d) stimuli flashed not at the same time, but it is not possible to say which came first. Temporal discrimination was measured under two conditions of expectations: when the subject knew in advance which stimulus flashed first, and when the subject did not know in advance which stimulus flashed first. All stimulus timing presentation and instructions for expectations were presented in pseudo random order. As expected, temporal discrimination threshold was highly affected by expectations. Lowest thresholds were for red colour when expectation coincided with flash presentation.

Participation of Mental Health Service Users and Carers in a Reading of the International Classification of Diseases for Mental and Behavioural Disorders (ICD 11). a Princeps Study on Two Disorders: Depressive Episode and Schizophrenia (Contract No. MTS-250000-1336). Assoc. Prof. N. Grigutyt臈, 2016鈥2017.
The goal of the research is to describe how users who have experienced a diagnosis of depressive episode and/or schizophrenia and their carers understand and perceive the essential features of the ICD-11 guidelines for these diagnoses. More specifically, the goal is to specify the views of users and carers on the essential features of the guidelines for the diagnosis concerning depressive episode or schizophrenia as relevant by describing:
- Their understanding of terms;
- Their reactions (positive vs. negative) generated by the terms used;
- Any alternative wording for the terms used to designate the essential features of the relevant diagnostic guidelines. This rewording exercise can lead to proposals to describe the experiences of users and carers differently;
- And for users, whether they have already experienced the essential feature of the diagnosis being described.
Moreover, the comparison of some of the reactions to the essential features of the two diagnoses should help identify communication problems specific to both.
The project is implemented in 14 countries around the world in collaboration with EPSM Lille-M茅tropole WHO Collaborating Centre, Lille.

Social Context of Corruption: An Analysis of Macro-, Mezzo-, and Micro- Factors (Contract No. MIP-15582). Dr. A. 膶epas. 2015鈥2017.
The project is based on constructivist approach, built on a viewpoint that corruption as a social phenomenon is not a given; rather, it is being constructed in the context of social interplays. Thus the research has covered processes of formation of the concept on the global level, corruption measurement tools and the influence they exert on contemporary understanding of corruption; has also aimed to single out social, psychological, economic factors of micro level that encourage and discourage individual and group decisions to take corrupt ways for satisfaction of interests.

Late Socialism in the Life Stories: the First Generation of the Soviet Era (Contract Nr. LIT-15128). Dr. L. 沤ilinskien臈.
The project is seeking to analyze the late socialism phenomena through the life stories of the 鈥榝irst generation of the soviet era鈥 born in 1946 to 1959. The project will be developed by means of the biography methodology. The project foresees to examine the features of socialization of this generation during the period of late socialism, especially, the significance of the family institute in socialization and the social maturity processes. The project will study how the memory of late socialism is employed in different social and biographic contexts restoring the consistency of an identity in the collapse of the post-soviet system. In addition to this, the project will be seeking to identify the features of generation identity in life stories by studying both features that, in the opinion of the researcher, are analysable and the apprehensions of collective 鈥榳e鈥 of the generation.
