The project aims at unifying linguistic resources on discourse structure and building systems to allow cross-linguistic investigations. In 2017, a Lithuanian research group was involved in developing a multilingual, crosslinguistic corpus of TED talks where transcripts are annotated in the PDTB style. This resource includes annotations on six languages and is intended to be extended to new languages with richer annotations involving aspects of spoken language. A meeting on DRDs Multilingual and Multimodal Challenges was held on 12鈥14 June 2017.

LSTM-based deep neural networks for speaker identification were investigated. The most efficient topologies of LSTM networks were found for this type of deep networks. It has been shown that for all the tested data sets LSTM-based speaker identification outperforms baseline HMM-based speaker identification methods by at least 20%. The average correct speaker identification level with LSTM networks exceeded 98%. The increase of recognition accuracy is between 4 and 7 per cent.

This aims at supporting the scientific research and technology development necessary for a breakthrough in the field of cost-containment in healthcare while also maintaining the quality of health care. So far, the EU R&D agenda has under-examined this aspect while in nearly every COST Member Country rising costs of healthcare are becoming a major societal problem.

Types are pervasive in programming and information technology. A type defines a formal interface between software components, allowing the automatic verification of their connections, and greatly enhancing the robustness and reliability of computations and communications. In rich dependent type theories, full functional specification of a program can be expressed as a type. Type systems have rapidly evolved over the past years, becoming more sophisticated, capturing new aspects of the behaviour of programs and the dynamics of their execution.
