Plant Genetic Resources, Biological, Molecular Studies and Biotechnology. Group Leader Prof. Habil. Dr. I. Pa拧akinskien臈. 2016鈥2020.
The genetic diversity of European yew (Taxus baccata L.) populations from Latvia, Great Britain, Georgia and Lithuanian individual trees was investigated by molecular markers methods. The genetic diversity of blue-berried honeysuckle (L. caerulea L.) populations from geographically remoted locations (Baltic Sea region, East part of Russia and Japan) was investigated by molecular markers methods (ISSR and cpDNA), too. Long-term dynamics of ectomycorrhizal community of Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris L.) seedlings in forest clear-cuts of different age were investigated. Assessment of vegetative reproduction capacity of tulip (Tulipa L.) varieties (鈥楳onte Spider鈥/Double Early Group, 鈥楥laudia鈥/Lily Flovered Group, 鈥榁irchic鈥/Viridiflora Group) was accomplished according to coeficient of weight increase. The morphological diversity of lilac (Syringa L.) varieties (鈥楨xelent鈥, 鈥楩lora鈥, 鈥楪ai拧tosias Sapnis鈥,鈥楰atherina Havameyer鈥, 鈥楰ionigin Luise鈥, 鈥楰rasavitsa Moskvy鈥, 鈥楲unyj Svet鈥, 鈥楳atu Ede Upits鈥, 鈥楳aximowic鈥, 鈥楳onigue Lemoine鈥, 鈥楶rimrose鈥, 鈥楽ensation鈥 and 鈥榁olkan鈥) that were propagated by tissue culture and by grafting were investigated and compared. The genetic diversity of varieties was also investigated by molecular markers methods. Morphological characteristics of Lithuanian primroses varieties (Primula L.) were evaluated.
